Why do your men think that men of all cultures are ready to pounce on women wherever they see them? (Confused expression on our face??.. all we were doing was taking a walk and enjoying the lovely weather… the lady really wasn’t happy to see me!!)

Are you different Muslims (refering to me and a hijabi sitting next to me!)
Are you different from those who wear this (pointing to my niqab) all black?
(I usually wear hijab/niqab sets in colors other than black…a tip from another niqabi at uni..seems black is “scary” and white gets a better response from non-Muslims)

waise to i agree with ure policy of not arguing over the finer points of religion – but ive read that the niqab as such is not really a requirement. Hijab and proper body coverage yes. but face and hands no. in fact coverage of the face is not mentioned anywhere in the Quran. and this i’ll wager anything on. i’m not that in touch with specific qiyas declarations and fatwas.
the niqab was howerver worn as an accessory to the hijab during the Prophet’s (PBUH)time by some of the female sahabis. however i beleive that there is no mention of his own daughter, Bibi Fatima (AS) using a niqab in any mustanad rivayat.
Enlighten me.

I have discovered that their are non-muslims that have a niqab fetish. They collect photos of vieled women from the internet and put them on sites like flickr or for private stock. Insha’Allah just to let you have a blessed ramadhan
